Food & Nature is our Medicine
I’m a Danish-Chinese mother, model, chef & holistic food therapist based in Reykjavik, Iceland. I care deeply about healing through herbs & food therapy, particularly through the knowledge of Chinese Traditional Medicine & using sustainable, mindful practices in connecting to what we eat & making our children a part of that connection too. I am passionate about women’s holistic healing, hormone balancing, skin issues & postpartum recovery. I believe that optimal health is best dealt with through natural holistic practices that are built on ancient wisdom & without toxic chemicals if you don’t have to! I am also an aromatherapist and certified Sauna Gus Master, French Cuisine alumnus of Le Cordon Bleu & currently training to become a TCM practitioner in Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine.
Here I will share the beautiful things that catch my eye and the food I cook & eat that carry depth in their stories, cultural heritage & effect they bring to our bodies & minds. I also like to question the way we live our lives and I don’t blindly adhere to mainstream trends. I believe information, intuition & self-judgement is of utmost importance. We have all the answers within us.
My journey started when I gave birth to my oldest son. My mom took care of me first the first month ‘zuo yuezi’, which is a sacred period during postpartum in Chinese culture and throughout many cultures. The new mom is pampered with broths, herbs, support from her community, foot baths and many other healing rituals.
Having grown up in the majority of my life in the West, I learned the hard way that the culture of bouncing back quickly, returning to work and lack of postpartum rituals means that many new moms are burned out, overwhelmed and suffer health problems both physically and
