Hydrating Nashi Pear Tonic

Favorite recipe for this Nashi Pear Tonic, which is lung moistening, alleviates dryness in throat and body by generating more fluids and gets rid of phlegm (we used to have this when sick as a child). It’s also great for digestion, so remember to consume it warm!

Ingredients:

• 1 large nashi pear (Asian pear)

• 3 cups water

• 3–5 slices fresh ginger

• 6–10 goji berries (gou qi zi)

• 1–2 red dates (jujube), split

• small pinch rock sugar or raw honey (to taste) + pinch of Osmanthus flowers (optional)

Step-by-step:

Peel & slice the pear, add to a pot with the sliced ginger and jujube. Simmer on low heat for 30-45 mins until pears have softened. Add in the goji and osmanthus, if using, in the last 1-2 mins 🌸 Enjoy!!
